Looks to me like you need to put in some more endurance trainimg David, as your later miles in the 11 mile race showed you slowing down considerably, but the plus ia that you seem to have a long distance runners ability. So how about trying some of the stamina training like intermittent fast slow, jog, sprint. I also used to mix it up with circuit training in the gym
